i never knew

i never knew the old web. the free world. a world before the towers fell and the iron jaws of capital clamped ever tighter around us all. every day of my life, the world has gotten a little less free. no matter how open-source my linux distro, how dumb my phone, or how thrifted my clothes, the world will continue to shrink around me. but perhaps this little website will be a step in the direction of some form of freedom. no one can commodify this. thanks, kat.

why anarchism

you may have seen the phrase "anarchism is being kind," or some derivation thereof. this, more than anything, informs my outlook. anarchism, as implemented in the daily lives of most people (myself included) looks a whole lot less like a political program, and a whole lot more like empathy. if you stop, and allow your natural human desire to be kind and empathetic to reassert itself, setting aside whatever bullshit you've been forcefed all these years, an anarchist perspective suddenly makes much more sense. the homeless are not the enemy, being poor is not a sin, food and shelter shouldn't be withheld from anyone for any reason. the unimaginable cruelty inflicted in the name of capitalism makes no sense. so be kind instead.
